In my studies, I examine the impact of historical victimization on both intra-group and inter-group relations in contemporary settings. Specifically, I investigate the attitudes, emotions, and behavioral patterns that emerge within groups that perceive themselves as having endured unjust and unavoidable aggression in the past. Furthermore, the research seeks to understand the broader implications of these experiences on social identity. How are identities shaped by such historical narratives, and how do these identities influence current intra- and inter-group dynamics as well as geopolitical orientations?
In this research, I investigate the impact of dark personality traits on various workplace phenomena. The study primarily focuses on organizational citizenship behaviors, counterproductive workplace behaviors, and the propensity towards corruption. Besides examining the direct relationship between dark traits and these phenomena, a key aspect of the research is identifying the mediator and moderator variables that influence these relationships. These variables may include emotions, attitudes, and motivations.
According to system justification theory, most people are motivated to justify and legitimize the existing social order. This mechanism of justification fulfills various psychological needs, with the need for control being particularly prominent. In a society that functions well, 'functioning well' is often sufficient for advancement. However, cultural research on system justification has indicated that the level of system justification in the Central and Eastern European region is lower compared to Western countries. My research explores the implications of low system justification (i.e., system derogation), particularly focusing on its relationship with political action participation.
