Timetable informations
Training plan
The purpose of the Training plan is for the student to plan their studies for the first four semesters—i.e., the training and research phase. (As this is a plan, it may naturally be modified in later semesters.)
All first-year students must submit their Training plan to the Secretariat by the last day of the academic term via email to pdi@ppk.elte.hu, with the approval of both their supervisor and the head of their program.
A template for the Training plan is available under the Templates menu.
Semester Progress Report
According to the Operational Regulations of the Doctoral School of Psychology (PDI), based on Section 19 of the Faculty Doctoral Regulations (KDSZ) of the Faculty of Education and Psychology (PPK), students are required to report on the progress of their doctoral research each semester as follows:
-
On the fulfillment of their study plan during the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd semesters
-
On the fulfillment of their research plan from the 5th semester onward, each semester
Therefore, students in their 4th active semester who are taking the complex examination are not required to submit a semester progress report.
The semester-end progress reports, as outlined in Section 19 (4) of the PPK KDSZ, are organized by the PDI on a program-by-program basis. Reports may not be scheduled during the final week of the exam period. The student's supervisor and program coordinator must attend the report session. The reports are public.
The program leaders are responsible for arranging the date and format of the reports in consultation with the students. The result of the report is submitted to the Secretariat of the Doctoral Schools by the head of the program.
Complex Exam
According to Section 53 (1) of Act CCIV of 2011 on National Higher Education, “During doctoral training, at the end of the fourth semester, a comprehensive (complex) examination must be taken to conclude the training and research phase and as a prerequisite for entering the research and dissertation phase. This examination assesses and evaluates academic and research progress.”
Detailed information about the procedure of the comprehensive examination is available on the website:
https://www.ppk.elte.hu/en/psychologyphd/complex-exam
Completion of Research and Teaching Credits
The student reports on their research and teaching activities by submitting a credit application form. This form is submitted as a request through the Neptun system.
The credit application form must be submitted both at the beginning and at the end of the semester—the end-of-semester submission reports on completed activities. At the beginning of the semester, only the supervisor’s approval is required, whereas at the end of the semester, approval from the supervisor(s) and the head of the program is necessary.
Based on the credit application form, the Student Affairs and Registrar's Office records the credits earned by the student in the Neptun.
Approval from the supervisor (and co-supervisor, if applicable) is ALWAYS required to submit the credit application form, and at the end of the semester, the approval of the head of the program is also required. Without these approvals, the form will not be accepted.
Additionally, the form submitted at the end of the semester will not be accepted if the “to be completed at the end of the semester” column is left blank.
The Student Affairs and Registrar's Office publishes information about submission deadlines and other rules on the faculty website each semester before the submission period, in the form of announcements: https://www.ppk.elte.hu/en/student_administration
IMPORTANT: Late or incomplete submission of the credit application form will result in a late submission fee! A submission is considered incomplete if the approvals of the supervisor(s) and/or the head of the program are missing.
If the Doctoral Dchool finds the credit application form incorrect or incomplete, it will be returned in Neptun for correction.
