Generation Z and the Olympism

Beyond the results, the Olympics has the potential to influence the wider public through its role, its message, its human stories. In our research, we investigate how and to what extent the Paris Olympics and their consumption habits in general, what they think about the events, how much they know about the Olympics, and how much they think they know about the Olympics, have influenced the audience of Generation Z, mainly Hungarian university students. In Hungary, the Olympics have always been more preoccupied people, some aspects of the Olympics are explicitly taboo, and the question of success and organisation divides society. In our research, we use several methods to investigate young people's media consumption habits during the Olympics, their opinions about the events and their knowledge about the event.
