Main research areas
The main focus of my research is the moral aspects of intergroup relations. Most of all, I try to contribute to the answer to the question of how our morally relevant social and political values and beliefs influence our intergroup attitudes. Furthermore, what perceived characteristics of different outgroups lead to their moral exclusion and tightening the group-based scope of the most basic moral principles.
In my research, I try to reveal how certain societal features influence the effect of different social motivations on the perception of the political, institutional, and economic system. Our results so far show that the objective extent of different social problems catalyze the power of multiple social motivations in the process of establishing biased subjective perceptions of these problems. Furthermore, I also investigate how such biased perceptions lead to positive attitudes towards the societal system and enhance subjective well-being.
