Attitudes of the social majority towards disabled persons and their perceptions

My research area is to reveal the attitudes of the dominant group towards disabled people and the perceptions of visually impaired persons towards these attitudes. My interdisciplinary research combines perspectives from social psychology, disability studies and gender studies. As part of a disability studies approach, my research mainly focuses on the lived experiences of disabled people, with particular focus on the experience of femininity and masculinity, furthermore stigma, stereotypes and discrimination (e.g. experiences in educational institutions). In addition to this, I have also examined the impact of the application of Theatre in Education regarding several topics (e.g. bullying, teachers well-being).
