My research interest covers all aspects of culture and education, mostly the culture of education. 

Culturally informed comparative education research on East-Asian education. 

My research interest covers the cultural aspects of migran students', educational integration of migrant students, and migrant students' bullying experience and its prevention in schools. 

My research interest covers supplementary private education, with a special focus on the teachers in shadow education. 

I am particularly interested in the natural developmental processes of teaching abilty, and its realtionship with formal teacher education. In teachers' professional development I am particulaily interested in collaborative methods like lesson study. 

In gifted education I am particularly interested in the development of mathematically gifted students. I am also very much interested in gifted education programs, in a global perspective. I am very much interested in the role of domain and field in gifted education. 

As a former teacher of literature, I analyise the methodology of literature teaching. I have a number of publication on this issue, with a strong impact on the field. I am particularly interested in the impact of informatization on literature teaching. 

My interests cover the reduction and prevention of the role of prejudice in education, particularly in case of minority students.
