Main research areas
One of my main research areas is the examination of the effects of climate change and the ecological crisis on mental health, with a particular focus on eco-emotions (e.g., climate anxiety, eco-grief, eco-guilt, eco-paralysis, solastalgia) and how to cope with them, using qualitative and quantitative methods.
I am doing research on addictions related to various psychoactive substances and behavioral addictions (e.g., gaming disorder).
One of my research interests is in the psychological aspects of caffeine consumption, including caffeine consumption motives, caffeine use disorder, the psychological correlates of caffeine use (e. g. ADHD-symptoms, chronotype, mental disorders), caffeine's effect on perception and cognition.
My studies on stress focus primarily on the effects of stress on perception and stress mindset.
I mainly focus on the educational applications of gamification and the evaluation of gamified educational methods.
