My research focuses on the investigation of behavioral addictions and their personality correlates, with special emphasis on the role of personality organization and personality disorders. While the associations between substance use disorders and personality have been relatively well explored, the study of such connections in the field of behavioral addictions remains less examined. It can be assumed that the characteristics of personality organization and the presence of various personality disorders play a role not only in the development of behavioral addictions but also in their course and in the effectiveness of treatment options. My main goal is to explore the relationship between personality organization and behavioral addictions, which may contribute to a better understanding of the underlying psychological mechanisms and to the development of more targeted preventive and therapeutic interventions.
