Main research areas
One of the most pressing issues of today is the impact of the accelerated world and increased internet use on the growing generation (Giannoulakis & Drayer, 2009; Prievara, 2016; Simay & Gáti, 2015; Zsolnai, 2017). The growing generation is undergoing many changes, their cultural habits, values and attitudes are very different from their previous peers (Kovács, 2011). The most relevant change for my research is media socialisation, which results in a sedentary lifestyle (Kósa & Berta, 2015). I put a special focus on the study of the internet use habits of post-school athletes and their impact on their social competence. The trend shows that they are spending more and more time in the online space and at the same time they are using social media platforms more boldly, which helps them to choose their role models for the 21st century (Giannoulakis & Drayer, 2009; Prievara, 2016). After one click, the youth athlete may feel that he has met and got to know his sporting role model, and therefore there is a lot of pressure on players and professional sports clubs (Tóth & Dancs, Gősi, 2019a; Tóth & Dancs, Gősi, 2019b).
