The People-environment transaction Programme

The People-environment transaction Programme is designed to provide an overview and raise awareness of environmental psychological processes in basic environment types. We interpret space and object use in a transactional way, in the relationship between people and the environment. Thus, we analyze built, natural, and virtual environmental situations taking place in people’s psychological processes and interactions. Also, how these affect the formation of the environment. According to the environmental psychological view/approach, both psychological and environmental processes receive the same emphasis in analyses. Based on the relationship of psychology and related disciplines (architecture, landscape planning, design, interior design), the program will provide theoretical and practical knowledge of both the human and the environmental aspects to increase people-environment fit.
