MARIHE

Thanks to having won a new application, ELTE can join Erasmus Mundus, the five-year-old Master in Research and Innovation in Higher Education (MARIHE) program. The act that we could join the Master level training under the coordination of Danube University Krems was made possible by the positive decision taken by the European Commission in June, providing € 3.7 million in support to the consortium implementing the program for four years, providing training to 82 scholars for a total of four years from 2019. The aim of the MARIHE program is the quality renewal, innovation and internationalisation of higher education institutions, getting the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) more attractive, the development of the higher education leadership competencies of students participating in the training, and thus raising their labour market opportunities.

The Project Coordinator is Attila Pausits, Head of Educational Management and Higher Education Development Center of Danube University Krems. From 2019, MARIHE offers students study trips to India and China, as well as four specialisations: Institutional Research, Learning and Teaching, Research and Innovation, and Leadership and Management.  Besides the former consortium partners, University of Tampere (Finland), Beijing Normal University (China) and Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences (Germany), ELTE and the Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (India) joins in from 2019. Seventeen associate partners are involved in the project, including the OECD and the European University Association. The MARIHE program is a unique opportunity for the educational field to expand its international network through the five, including two Asian consortium partners, and its alumni network of more than 50 people from around 30 countries. The project provides a significant professional background and support for our English language MA in Education program.
