BENCE HÁLÁSZ became the best male athlete of the year

In 2022, the Hungarian Athletics Association chose the European Championship silver medalist hammer thrower Bence Halász, a student of the ELTE PPK Sports Science Institute - Szombathely, majoring in recreation management and health promotion, as the adult male athlete of the year.
The prize has been awarded by the association to the most successful athletes of the year since 1964. According to the association's website, Bence Halász broke the coveted 80-meter mark at the World Championships in Oregon, with which he took 5th place, and then improved his performance to a record of 80.92 meters at the continental championships a month later to win the silver medal. Only three people have broken his mark in Munich this season.
The athlete, who also won the Dobó European Cup, is coached by Zsolt Németh and László Németh, and his club is Dobó SE Szombathely.
